So this is the New Year... in Italy!

I am currently in Rome as of about two hours ago, those two hours were spent waiting in line to see if I could get to Paris and finding my hostel. I will tell you this though....
Venice is sweet. It is so pretty and really what you think of when Italy in mentioned. Romantic (the New Years party theme was LOVE), classical and absolutley beautiful. New Years eve was nuts, people everywhere in San Marco square good food, drinks and live music. The canals are fun, but it sucks when you have to take a boat to get home and that boat isnt running so you spend the first three hours of the new year on some island. It all made up for it the next day when the sun was out, the temperature mild and the streets alive with people! Venice is famous for its glass objects and they are everywhere and beautiful.
Next we went to Florence which I have fallen in love with. The tempature was great, a nice change from Germany. Today we went and saw the David in all his naked glory and hit up the local markets. They are everywhere and had lots of school scarves and blankets. We ended our stay with lunch, a delcious ham and mozzerella sandwich that was amazing! I cannot believe the trip is almost half over already, it is going by so quickly!
